A note from our founder

Hi, I'm Ashley.

For as long as I can remember, I've saved greeting cards. Birthday cards, holiday cards, little notes tucked inside care packages — I kept every single one. Not because I had a system. Not because I was organized. Because I couldn't bring myself to throw them away.

They lived in a shoebox under my bed for 22 years. Pink and white and faded, stacked on top of each other, never quite sorted, never quite displayed. Every few years I'd pull the box out, sit on the floor, and spend an hour reading through them. Every time, I'd cry a little. Then I'd put them back, push the box under the bed, and forget about them again.

When I moved apartments for the third time, the box almost didn't make the cut. It was heavy. It was taking up room. And some of the cards were getting damaged. But I couldn't let them go. Those cards held the handwriting of people I've lost. They held the exact words my mom wrote the year I graduated. They were the only proof I had that someone had taken the time to find exactly the right card, sit down, and write something just for me.

So I kept the box. And I started thinking: there has to be a better way.

Keepi started as a personal solution. I photographed every card in that shoebox. Front and inside. Tagged each one with a name and a year. And then — for the first time in my adult life — I felt like I could actually let the physical cards go. Not because they stopped mattering. Because I knew the words were safe.

I built Keepi for every woman who has a shoebox, a drawer, a rubber-banded stack somewhere that she can't quite throw away. You don't have to choose between keeping everything and keeping nothing. You can keep what matters most — the words, the handwriting, the memory — and finally give yourself permission to let the rest go.
